May 3, 2023: Trellis Social Enterprise Inc. is proud to announce the official launch of its highly-anticipated Raisers Edge NXT pilot program in collaboration with Blackbaud. As a member of the Blackbaud Social Good Startup Program since early 2023, Trellis has developed the first-ever integration between the renowned non-profit CRM platform and its North American-based fundraising software.

This integration is a game-changer for non-profit organizations currently using both Trellis and Raisers Edge NXT, as it allows them to seamlessly collect and analyze data on their supporters’ engagement with fundraising activities. By leveraging this valuable data, organizations can easily identify high-potential donors for their cause and nurture them toward becoming lifetime supporters.

Raiser’s Edge NXT is the leading fundraising and donor management software solution built specifically for nonprofits and the social good community. Spanning over 60 countries, and boasting millions of users, the software strives to provide valuable insights and data for its users, making this integration with Trellis a natural fit.

Similarly, at its core, Trellis is committed to developing innovative tools and software that help organizations raise more with their existing fundraising practices. The platform currently supports customers with a range of tools including ticketing, donations, raffles, auctions, and e-commerce. Moreover, through strategically designed donation upsells, Trellis users have seen a 20% increase in fundraising revenue, setting it apart from other fundraising platforms.

Justin Goodhew, CEO and Co-founder of Trellis, commented, “As a fundraising solution, my team and I are committed to helping organizations raise more. We believe that integrating with tools like Raisers Edge provides organizations with the insights they need to grow their fundraising, well beyond that incredible 20% bump we’re already seeing.”

Trellis is actively seeking additional organizations to join the pilot program and experience the benefits of this groundbreaking integration. Interested parties can email sales@trellis.org for more details.

With this announcement, Trellis is leading the way towards a more modern approach to fundraising that empowers non-profit organizations to reach their full potential.

Kelowna BC – August 11 2022: Trellis Social Enterprise Inc. (trellis.org) has just been approved as a verified Electronic Raffle Provider in Ontario. As an already approved raffle platform, in most other provinces across Canada, they are excited to continue supporting more organizations as they modernize fundraising through online tools. Beyond supporting electronic raffles and 50/50s, Trellis supports charities and non-profits with event ticketing, auctions, eCommerce, live-streaming, and a seamless check-in experience, creating an all-in-one fundraising platform, unlike any other software.

As a company, Trellis has experienced a rapid expansion throughout the last few years, experiencing 200x growth in usage over the 2 years of COVID-19 due to the massive shift in technology adoption for charitable fundraising that was already on the rise pre-pandemic.

However, what makes Trellis most excited is the innovative approach to fundraising through Donation Augmenting that truly sets them apart. “Fundraising is harder than ever before, and organizations require new solutions to raise the funds they need,” notes Justin Goodhew, CEO and Founder of Trellis. “My team and I have developed Donation Augmented Fundraising, allowing organizations to strategically ask for additional donations throughout their checkout experience. So far, organizations hosting raffles are raising an additional 20% more than they have in the past, and the impact for their non-profits is incredible,” adds Goodhew. “And the best part, on top of the additional revenue, we can also identify new donors, unlike raffles without donations, where it is hard to tell if a raffle purchaser wants to donate further.”

Having worked with organizations like David Suzuki Foundation, War Child, Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation, and Women’s College Hospital Foundation in the past, they are excited for another record-breaking fundraising season ahead. Jen from Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation goes on to say, “[Trellis] is amazing, you get that feeling right from the get go that [they] are willing to work with whatever we’ve got and help us to do the best that we can do.” And, with even more ways to fundraise now available to their organizations, the Trellis team looks forward to continuing to simplify fundraising and empowering more global collective impact. Kelowna BC – October 19 2021: Trellis Social Enterprise Inc. (trellis.org), has officially been approved as a Verified Electronic Raffle Provider in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and PEI. As an all-in-one fundraising software platform, this added feature further simplifies fundraising for its charities and organizations, making it easier than ever to raise funds for their cause.

To kick off the use of Trellis’ new raffle product, the iconic Bright Nights 50/50, put on by the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, will be powered by Trellis. The Bright Nights 50/50 is a fundraising extension of the beloved Bright Nights in Stanley Park, which raises money for burn survivors across BC. “Last year, our 50/50 jackpot reached more than $500k. With an ambitious goal of reaching a $1 million dollar jackpot, we are eager to use Trellis’ new online raffle system to create a more customized, user-friendly experience, and make the raffle bigger and better than last year,” says Nicole Clark, Director of Communications for the Burn Fund.

Justin Goodhew, Founder and CEO of Trellis.org and his team have worked tirelessly to become a raffle provider this year, and the response from BC organizations since the announcement has been incredibly positive. “Adding raffles to Trellis will bring immense value for the organizations we support. Especially since the pandemic, fundraising events have all changed and many cancelled, organizations are struggling more than ever to support those they serve.” Justin states. “However, with the ability to simply connect with Trellis, get guidance and support on raffle licensing, and launch your raffle in minutes, charities are seeing light at the end of this tunnel” he adds.

And, as an all-in-one fundraising platform, charities are taking advantage of the additional features Trellis offers beyond raffles, including tickets, donations, auctions, live streaming and selling items. “The simple act of asking donors to add a donation when buying raffle tickets during checkout alone, can drive more funds for your cause, and help you secure the necessary funds you need. And it’s remarkably easy to set up.” says Goodhew.

In the coming months, stay tuned for more updates on which provinces Trellis is approved in or connect with our team at trellis.org/raffles.

As the world changes, fundraising for charities and organizations continues to be uncertain. But with this new development, fundraising just got simpler and together we can create global collective impact empowered by Trellis.

Kelowna, BC. March 20, 2020

The Trellis Social Enterprise Inc. Sprout a Fundraiser challenge has officially wrapped up, and the winner, the Central Okanagan Food Bank, has received a $10,000 donation during what has become a very critical time.

The donation was the first place prize donated by The Clique Group Ltd. and won based on the third-party fundraising event, The 2nd Annual Fork and Spoon Gala hosted by Cody Pollard. The gala brought 14 Okanagan chefs and three local bartenders together to create a nine-course meal using ingredients found in the kitchen of the local food bank this past fall.

“The need in our food bank right now is serious and with this donation, we now are able to serve more people during what has been an extremely challenging situation for many. We are beyond grateful for Cody, The Clique Group, and Trellis for putting this all together,” says Tammie Watson, Chief Development Officer of Central Okanagan Food Bank. “Speaking on behalf of charities, we are so grateful whenever third-party champions step forward to run fundraising events and donation campaigns for our causes. It is so inspiring to know others care about our organization and appreciate the work that we, as charitable professionals, do day-in and day-out.” Tammie adds.

The Clique Group, is thankful to be able to give back in this way. “Not everybody is in a position to give, especially at a time like this. For those of us that can, we have a responsibility to do so,” says Dallas Chelick, Co-Founder and CEO of The Clique Group.

Two other local charities won prizes too through the Sprout a Fundraiser challenge. The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society won a mentoring session with Purppl, a local social enterprise accelerator, based on the fundraising initiatives of Amal Alhuwayshil’s #speakout support campaign. While The Bridge Youth and Family Services won three-month access to Grant Connect, the grant-seeking platform of national nonprofit Imagine Canada, based on the Poses for a Purpose fundraiser held by Roz Huber. These prizes will offer additional support to both organizations, beyond the amazing work done by these third-party champions.

Additionally, this challenge hosted by Trellis Social Enterprise would not have been possible without the support of sponsors, The Clique Group, Purppl, Imagine Canada, Loop Digital and Kelowna Foundation.

For non-profit organizations, having third-party champions step forward and raise money on their behalf is critical to ensuring their success. With the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the need is greater than ever as these organizations look to support even more individuals with higher safety, people, and financial restraints. As the nature of COVID-19 continues to evolve, consider the role you can play, and how you can support your local community.

It’s inspiring watching others give back so selflessly. When we launched this challenge, we had no idea what the response would be, and this is far more than we could’ve imagined. As a team, this has really cemented why we’re doing the work we do, and further ignites our passion.” says Goodhew.

These six finalists will have a chance to win 1 of 3 prizes.

Kelowna, BC – December 16 2019: John Perlinger, founder of Chartiables.com, created a large charcoal portrait of NHL hockey players Carey Price and Shea Weber celebrating at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. This art piece has now been turned into prints and is being sold to raise money for local charity Mamas for Mamas. You can purchase the prints here on Trellis.

These much loved Montreal Canadien players who have strong ties to Kelowna are helping raise money for local charity Mamas for Mamas this holiday season.

As an art school drop-out, Perlinger had the idea to create a charcoal drawing and capture it on video. He then sent it to Montreal, where Price and Weber graciously signed and sent it back.

To sell the prints, Perlinger is using local startup Trellis Social Enterprise Inc. “I was so excited to partner with Trellis for this project. They are passionate about giving back and raising funds for local organizations so the alignment was perfect” states John. Through Trellis, Perlinger is selling these prints around the world, with buyers even located in Switzerland.

Perlinger says he picked Mamas for Mamas to receive the donations because “Coming from a family of five kids, I often felt scarcity as a child and know how challenging the holidays can be for single parents. And now as a parent myself, I am so thankful to be able to give back to Mamas for Mamas and support the incredible work that they do in the community”. You can find the prints on Trellis here.

Perlinger launched his online charity site, Charitables back in the fall and describes it as a marketplace where users can buy and sell items, giving all proceeds from the sales to their chosen charity. As he starts out, he’ll be selling these prints to raise money for Mamas for Mamas and help get Charitables off the ground.

For this project, he’s using Trellis, a local startup founded by Justin Goodhew right here in the Okanagan. Trellis is a social enterprise connecting people with simple solutions to champion causes they are passionate about. Through the platform, users can start an event or fundraiser for charity within minutes, raise more funds for their causes, and automate the administrative side of fundraising. Founded in 2018, Trellis is now a team of 10 people, bringing philanthropy into the modern age, growing events and community initiatives into a greater force for social good.

Kelowna, BC – November 4, 2019: A local online fundraising startup, Trellis, has launched Sprout a Fundraiser – an Okanagan-wide charity challenge.

“Everybody has a cause they care about, and with the Sprout a Fundraiser challenge, we are encouraging individual and business champions to raise money for the causes they care about for a chance to win an extra $10,000 for their chosen organization,” says Rebecca Alfred, marketing lead at Trellis.

Since launching Sprout, more than 18 individual and business champions have joined, eager to start fundraising. They have already raised more than $25,000 – and the number continues to grow.

The campaign hopes to raise $100,000 in the Okanagan through champion events before February 2020.

Kelowna-based digital agency Twirling Umbrellas developed the concept and website for the campaign.

Canadian Startup News – October 24, 2019: Accelerate Okanagan is partnering with Kelowna-based fundraising platform Trellis to launch a campaign challenging the OKGNtech community to raise $1 million for charity.

The campaign is called OKGNtech for Good and is expected to officially launch October 25. The initiative has raised over $100,000 so far, and Child Advocacy Centre (CAC) has been selected as one of the suggested charities to receive a portion of the money raised. The CAC, a program aimed to help support vulnerable children, is expected to open next year. Current donors so far include MAVAN Capital Partners and CREW Marketing Partners.

“OKGNtech for Good is our chance to show that we have matured as a local industry and that we have the capacity to give back.”

“The OKGNtech community is the fastest-growing tech region in the country. We are not only home to a lively startup ecosystem but a healthy group of established companies who want to give back,” said Brea Lake, who was recently named CEO of Accelerate Okanagan. “OKGNtech for Good is a chance for us to thank the entire Okanagan region for supporting us through this growth and an opportunity to give back in a really tangible way.”

CAC represents a $6 million initiative by the Kelowna Foundation for Hope and Social Innovation, in which $3 million will be committed to the build-out costs of the CAC and an additional $3 million will be committed to supporting ongoing operational costs over the first four years.

“Child abuse and neglect are at the root of a lot of social issues negatively impacting our community,” said Justin Goodhew, CEO of Trellis. “If we can support the Child Advocacy Centre or other great causes in the Okanagan in changing the landscape of treatment, I believe this will translate to a healthier and more vibrant community.”

Founded in 2018, Trellis is a social enterprise startup that connects people with simple solutions to champion their causes. Through the platform, users can start an event or fundraiser for a charity, and Trellis can help track the fundraising journey.
